The arrest of Jeffrey Krusinski for sexual battery is perhaps a good argument why a man shouldn’t be in charge of a military office tasked with sexual assault prevention.
An allegedly inebriated Air Force Lt. Col. Jeff Krusinski has been arrested under suspicion of sexual battery for an incident that occurred in Arlington May 5.
At 12:35 a.m., according to the police report, “a drunken male subject approached a female victim in a parking lot and grabbed her breasts and buttocks. The victim fought the suspect off as he attempted to touch her again and alerted police.”
Police arrested Krusinski for “sexual battery” and have him under $5,000 bail.
This isn’t the first incident of sexual battery in the Air Force.
Earlier this year, a lieutenant general overturned a sexual assault conviction for fighter pilot Lt. Col. James Wilkerson, who was convicted a year earlier of aggravated sexual assault and sentenced to a year in jail.
In addition, roughly a dozen training instructors at Joint Base San Antonio-Lockland, in Texas, have been convicted of misconduct with trainees, including cases of sexual assault.
Call me a traditionalist: I think military personnel should be able to fight and at least defend themselves. Obviously, Krusinski should have a job where he won’t get beaten up due to his proclivities. At the least this supervisor needs remedial training. The Air Force should hire Krusinski’s Crystal City, Virginia victim, who etched this lieutenant colonel’s face with those marks of shame with her fingernails, and not one of its own, if it really wants to prevent sexual battery.
